Are you a Rutgers undergraduate student interested in exploring how technologies like social media and AI shape society and politics? Consider joining the Technology and Democracy Research Hub Fall 2026 paid internship cohort, open to undergraduate students from all majors. No political science or technical background required, but we encourage students with prior experience conducting policy research, data analysis in R, or social science research methods to apply. Research projects will focus on political behavior, tech policy, democratic backsliding, and other questions at the intersection of technology and democracy.

Note: this opportunity is open to undergraduates enrolled at Rutgers–New Brunswick (enrollment for Fall 2026 is required), and requires a weekly time commitment of 10-15 hours, including 1-2 hours a week of in-person meetings. Participation in the cohort requires availability for weekly meetings in-person on Wednesdays from 10 a.m.-12 p.m. in the Wood Lawn Carriage House (185 Ryders Lane, New Brunswick, NJ 08901).

You are encouraged to consult with your individual academic departments to determine whether academic internship or research credit may be available. Please note that internship credit cannot be granted by multiple departments for the same internship experience.
