The Eagleton Graduate Fellowship is a one‑year certificate program open to all Rutgers graduate students. Fellows build professional networks and real‑world skills in American politics, public policy, government, and advocacy through a unique fall course, monthly sessions, a spring government internship, and hands‑on experiences in New Jersey and Maryland state legislatures. The program provides tuition support and stipends, enabling students to continue advancing toward their graduate degrees while gaining valuable professional experience.
Eligibility
- Graduate students from all Rutgers schools, departments, and campus locations who are registered full- or part-time for the fall 2026 and spring 2027 semesters.
- Minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA
- Interest in American politics, policy, government, and/or advocacy
- Availability to attend in-person fall class in New Brunswick, spring government internship, monthly sessions at State House in Trenton, and legislative trip to Annapolis, Maryland.
NOTE:
- Applicants must be accepted into a graduate program at Rutgers to be eligible.
- Students in one-year graduate programs are encouraged to apply.
- Students in multi-year graduate programs (3 years or more) can apply, but are generally not accepted for their first year of study
- Full-time Rutgers employees are NOT eligible to apply for this program.
